FakeChecker
WELCOME TO THE MINISTRY OF VERITY
"Observa. Denuncia. Obedi."
Fake Checker is a dystopian, high-pressure data verification simulator. You have been newly appointed as a Terminal Operative for the Ministry of Verity. Your job is simple but critical: intercept global news broadcasts, cross-reference their claims with official evidence, and decide the truth.
The internet is drowning in misinformation. Only you can filter the signal from the noise.
THE MECHANICS
Process daily quotas of incoming news files under the crushing pressure of the Ministry timer. For every package that arrives on your terminal, you must analyze the article against the provided evidence and stamp it with one of four verdicts:
- TRUE — The claim is entirely supported by official evidence.
- FALSE — The claim directly contradicts the official data.
- MISLEADING — The headline manipulates the truth or exaggerates the details.
- UNVERIFIED — There is no official confirmation or clear evidence either way.
FEATURES
- High-Stakes Verification: Meet your daily processing quota or face immediate termination.
- Quad-Tier System: Go beyond simple "Real" or "Fake" mechanics with forced nuances like "Misleading" headlines and "Unverified" rumors.
- Terminal Upgrades: Use your meager salary credits to purchase hardware upgrades—reduce CRT flickering, stop system overheating, and keep your terminal alive.
- Dystopian Atmosphere: Immersive dark-synth background sequences, heavy CRT visual filters, and bleak bureaucratic grading.
A NOTE TO OPERATIVES
The Ministry watches your accuracy closely. Make a mistake, and you lose Trust. Lose all your Trust, and you lose your terminal.
Do not fail the Ministry.
